Staunch anti-Trump Republican strategist Rick Wilson claimed Wednesday night that President Donald Trump uses the pharmaceutical stimulant Adderall during a panel discussion about the government shutdown on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon.

Wilson was on Lemon’s show with Alice Stewart, Keith Boykin, and Sally Kohn.

“Rick, Nancy Pelosi in an interview today said nope, not budging at all. I don’t see any signs at all from the Senate budging, as well. Where do we go from here?” Lemon asked. (RELATED: Rick Wilson: Trump Was ‘One Millisecond’ From Calling April Ryan The ‘N-Word’)

“No matter how many times Donald Trump tweets, no matter how much he spends his morning ‘executive time’ hoovering up rails of Adderall and rage tweeting, it’s not going to change where Pelosi is,” Wilson answered, perhaps facetiously suggesting that Trump consumes the drug. “So as long as she holds the line, this thing is gonna go on until Trump feels the pain level rise.”

Wilson has long railed against the president, going as far as saying in 2015 that the donor class should “put a bullet in Donald Trump.”

He continued Wednesday night:

As much as the Republicans think that the rules have changed there are 800,000 people not getting a paycheck right now and they’re not just in D.C. they’re across the country. There are 800,000 federal jobs and as much as he may want to shrink the federal government to make it small enough to kill in a bathtub, these are air traffic controllers and these folks that perform vital government services. That pain level is increasing by the day.

A partial federal government shutdown has been going on since right before Christmas. The president is demanding ample funds to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. The Democrats have refused to budge on the wall and the shutdown does not appear to have an official end in sight.
