Tons of people tuned in to NBC for the Eagles 16-15 victory Sunday over the Chicago Bears.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the NFC Wild Card game got a rating of 26.7, which means nearly 27 percent of households with televisions watched.

I can attest that the game was absolutely awesome, and I’m sure more people tuned in as it got deeper and deeper into the fourth quarter.

My eyes were glued to the television when the Bears missed what would have been a game-winning field goal. Just pure electricity and swinging of emotions! (RELATED: Here Were The Best Moments From Wild Card Weekend In The NFL)

It looked like the Eagles were doomed, but you’re only dead in the NFL until you’re not.

I’d also like to point out that the NFC Wild Card game got more than the double the rating of the Golden Globes, which aired on the same network.

I think it’s safe to say people care a hell of a lot more about football than they do about dumb award shows.

The numbers speak for themselves (26.7 vs. 12.7), and the facts never lie.

I can only imagine how happy these numbers must make Roger Goodell and the rest of the NFL executives. The good news for the league is that the numbers should only climb as we advance through the bracket.

Business is booming right now for the NFL, and there’s no doubt about it.
