Kevin Spacey appeared in a packed Nantucket courthouse Monday morning for an alleged sexual assault case stemming from 2016.

Dressed in a floral shirt and charcoal grey suit, the defamed “House of Cards” star, 59, appeared to speak quietly with his lawyer Alan Jackson. He even managed to crack a few smiles before the hearing began.

Looking tired, Spacey agreed not to have contact with his alleged victim and nodded his head slightly when he was ordered to stand before the judge. He’s accused of groping an 18-year-old busboy and faces felony charges of indecent assault and battery. (RELATED: ‘Family Guy’ Made Fun Of Kevin Spacey’s Alleged Pedophilia 12 Years Ago)

Spacey, who has been accused of groping other young men during his nearly three decades-long career in Hollywood, didn’t have much else to say during the hearing. The allegation at hand did not come to public light until 2017 when the busboy’s mother and Boston TV anchor Heather Unruh levied charges against Spacey. But Spacey’s lawyer attempted to use the delayed allegations against the victim, claiming his failure to report the assault immediately damages his credibility.

“By reporting the sexual assault, my client is a determined and encouraging voice for those victims not yet ready to report being sexually assaulted,” the alleged victim’s lawyer, Mitchell Garabedian, retorted.

If convicted, Spacey stands to spend up to five years in prison.
