Michigan’s basketball team beat Minnesota 59-57 Tuesday night, and the ending was very dramatic.

It looked like the game was headed for overtime after the Gophers blocked a last second shot attempt. Wolverines guard Charles Matthews had other plans.

Matthews snagged the ball, and got it up for the game winning shot as time expired. Watch the incredible sequence of events below.

That’s one incredible way to end a game and crush your opponent’s spirit. There’s nothing better than a great buzzer-beater in basketball, and that’s exactly what Matthews pulled off.

Just some unbelievable final seconds in a great Big 10 basketball game. Check out another angle of the shot below.

Now, as somebody who supports a team — Wisconsin — that just beat Michigan, I’m not going to rub it in that the Wolverines should have beaten Minnesota by about 50. (RELATED: Wisconsin Being Unranked In The Latest AP College Basketball Is Criminal)

A younger David Hookstead would have made fun of the Wolverines for even letting this game get to the situation Michigan found itself in. A younger David Hookstead would have taken credit for destroying their whole month and possibly their year.

I’m much more mature these days, and don’t grab low hanging fruit, despite how tempting and easy it would be. I’ll just say congrats to Michigan for the win, and leave it at that.
