President Donald Trump used footage from MSNBC to make the case for a southern border wall Wednesday.

Trump is currently in gridlock with Congress over border wall funding, leading to the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. A major contributing factor to the stalemate is the Democrats’ reluctance to give the president border wall funding.

Trump continued to take his messaging for the wall to Twitter by sharing an MSNBC story about the southern border.

Trump tweeted, “Even Trump Haters like (MS)NBC acknowledge you ‘BUILD A WALL & CRIME WILL FALL!'”

He shared a video of an MSNBC report that filmed illegal aliens being driven to the southern border and appearing to walk into America freely in the dark of night. (Activists Jump Nancy Pelosi’s Mansion Wall With Illegal Immigrants, Demand Entry To Her Home)

A massive public relations battle has raged between the executive and legislative branches. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has attempted to cancel Trump’s State of the Union speech over alleged “security concerns” from the government shutdown. Trump later canceled an oversees trip Pelosi had planned with fellow Democratic congressional leaders.

Trump announced Wednesday that he will be giving the State of the Union speech as planned.
