A photo of NFC Championship-winning coach Sean McVay circulating around social media is barely recognizable.

The photo, which shows McVay as a sophomore at Miami University Of Ohio, was first uncovered by Ben Volin, who writes about the NFL and Patriots for Boston.com. (RELATED: Stephen A. Smith Has Some Interesting Thoughts On The Growing Movement To Hire New Sean McVay-Type Coaches)

“Rams coach Sean McVay had a different haircut in college,” Volin wrote on Twitter, with a screen grab photo of McVay’s spot on the Miami University Football roster from 2006.

McVay, who is listed at 5 ft. 10 in. and 187 pounds, played wide receiver during his college career. We hear a lot about how young he is, but he’s so young that he even played against Julian Edelman when the Miami University RedHawks played the Kent State Golden Flashes in 2006 and 2007. Oddly enough, Edelman played quarterback at the time.

And how about this for another overplayed Super Bowl narrative? McVay is originally from Marietta, Georgia — a suburb of Atlanta. So he may feel right at home come Super Bowl Sunday in the Atlanta Mercedes Benz stadium.
