Former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley had an epic comment when talking about his NFL future.

Bleacher Report published an outstanding profile of the dual-threat QB Wednesday, and I’d encourage football fans everywhere to read it.

There was one comment that stood out above all the rest to me. “How big is Drew Brees?” the former PSU star asked Bleacher Report, which is an obvious reference to the fact they’re roughly the same size. I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I love the fact McSorley is comparing himself to Brees, who is one of the greatest to ever play the game. I absolutely want a quarterback with that kind of confidence.

You know what else? He’s not wrong. If Brees, Russell Wilson and Baker Mayfield can make plays in the NFL, then why can’t McSorley?

The young man is extremely talented.

I have no idea what awaits McSorley in the NFL, but I absolutely believe he can ball out if a team gives him a chance to show his stuff.

He’s got a great arm, he’s fast and he makes solid decisions with the ball. All of those are skills that translate well at the next level. Trust me, I like his odds, especially with the confidence he carries.
