CONTRACT DETAILS: Baltimore Ravens Sign Head Coach John Harbaugh To An Extension

David Hookstead | Smoke Room Editor-in-Chief

John Harbaugh won’t be leaving the Baltimore Ravens anytime soon.

The Ravens head coach was given a four-year extension by the team late Thursday afternoon. Salary details aren’t known at this time.

This is a good decision from the Ravens. I like it a lot. I’m not sure right now there’s a better coach on the market that could have replaced him.

Plus, Lamar Jackson really thrived at times under his leadership. A coaching change at the current moment could have had a serious impact on their young QB, and it wouldn’t have been a good one. (RELATED: Ravens Coach John Harbaugh Says Lamar Jackson Is The Team’s QB Going Forward)

Will the Ravens continue to get better with Jackson and Harbaugh together? I think the odds are very high. He’s a Super Bowl-winning coach, and the Louisville Heisman winner is one of the best young gunslingers in the game.

There’s no point in breaking up that duo right now.

Ravens fans should be very happy with this decision. If they’re not, then they clearly aren’t paying attention to what’s happening around them.
