Kanye West and Pete Davidson were seen hanging out together Wednesday night.
The unlikely duo, who have disagreed publicly about Kanye’s decision to wear a red MAGA hat on the set of “Saturday Night Live” for an entire week, were spotted sitting together on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram story. Several rappers and TV stars appeared to be gathered for dinner to celebrate rapper Kid Cudi’s 35th birthday. Neither Pete Davidson nor Kanye West are on social media, so it’s not completely clear if the two men have buried their differences. However, the two seem to have more in common than first suspected.
Both men have been relatively open about their struggles with grief and mental illness. Kanye admits to struggling deeply after his mother, Donda, died from complications during surgery in 2007. Davidson’s father, a New York City firefighter, died during the 9/11 attacks when Pete was just seven years old.
The two also struggle with personality disorders and admit to taking medicine in an attempt to cope with their issues. Davidson has previously urged Kanye to get back on his meds to deal with his bipolar disorder.
“Take ’em! There’s no shame in the medicine game,” he said on an October edition of SNL’s ‘Weekend Update.’
“I’m on them, they’re great,” Davidson said. “Being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jacka**.”
