Wisconsin basketball coach Greg Gard has pulled off a pretty cool accomplishment.
After beating Minnesota Wednesday night, Gard became the third fast active coach in the Big Ten to get to 40 wins. If that’s not impressive, especially given the disaster of last year, then I don’t know what is.
Last night, Greg Gard earned his 40th Big Ten victory in just 66 games at the helm of Wisconsin

It’s crazy to me how many people wanted Greg Gard fired a year ago. Did we have a bad season last year? Yes, it really couldn’t have been much worse. Still, his career coaching record is 74-42 in under four years. If you ignore last season as a one-off event, he’s 59-24.
That’s more than enough to satisfy me given how he was thrust into the situation a few years ago when Bo Ryan retired. (RELATED: Wisconsin
Now, he’s got the Badgers at 17-6 and we’re running through teams as we head back to the tournament.

Nobody — and I mean nobody — wants a piece of Wisconsin right now. We’re firing on all cylinders, and Gard is the man for the job.
The fact he’s the third fastest active coach to 40 wins in the B1G is insanely impressive. Again, it’s even more impressive when you think about all the disaster of a situation that unfolded last year.
It doesn’t matter anymore because Wisconsin Badgers basketball is officially back. Consider yourself warned.
Anyone else still fired up from tonight?!
