Former Texas quarterback Shane Buechele is headed to SMU.
The talented quarterback announced the decision on Twitter late Thursday afternoon. He’ll have two more years of eligibility left for the Mustangs.

You have to be smiling ear-to-ear right now if you cheer for the Mustangs. This is a great get for SMU.
Buechele is a very solid quarterback, has starting experience under his belt and has shown some great flashes.

He simply got beat out by Sam Ehlinger. That doesn’t make Buechele a bad player. Ehlinger is a top-10 player at his position in college football.

Trust me, there’s a very good chance Buechele lights it up for the Mustangs.
SMU has gotten themselves a hell of a player in Buechele, and I can’t wait to see what he does. As somebody pointed out on Twitter, it’s a good time to be a fan of the Mustangs right now. They’re clearly headed in the correct direction.
