Kyler Murray has officially chosen football over baseball.

The Oklahoma Sooners Heisman winner announced Monday on Twitter that that he was “firmly and fully committing” his life to “becoming an NFL quarterback.”

Well, there you have it folks. The man who has dominated sports headlines for months has finally made his call, and he made the right one.

Choosing the NFL is absolutely without a doubt the smarter play for Murray. Football provides more upfront money if he’s a first round pick, and there is a lot more marketability in the NFL for a star quarterback. The Oakland A’s were willing to throw a few million his way, but pro football is just a better option if you can play quarterback. (RELATED: Heisman Winner Kyler Murray Invited To Spring Training With The Oakland A’s)

I really hope that Murray gets taken by the Raiders or first overall by the Cardinals. It would be so much fun to watch him play for Kingsbury or Gruden.

Either option would be absolute content gold.

Now, we wait to see how he does at the combine, and all his workouts going forward. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see him play in the NFL.
