Tucker Carlson called Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “dumb and totally ignorant” on his show Tuesday night.

“In her brief time in the political limelight on what, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has said a lot of interesting stuff, here’s one thing she said,” Carlson began.
Carlson then aired a montage of Ocasio-Cortez clips.
“An agency like ICE, which repeatedly and systematically violates human rights does not deserve a dime,” she said. “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change. This is our World War II. “So not only dumb and totally ignorant of everything, but utterly self-assured. If there were a clinical exam for self-esteem, she would be in the 100th percentile,” Carlson added. “How do people get like that? Is it our education system? Is a high school? Is it colleges?”
Carlson’s brief segment on Ocasio-Cortez comes less than a week after he interviewed one of her advisers about the Green New Deal, which she introduced.
Robert Hockett, a law professor at Cornell, wrongfully claimed that Carlson was asking him questions from a “doctored document.” Carlson specifically asked him about the economic protections for those “unwilling to work,” but Hockett said that this claim was from a rogue outline of the Green New Deal proposal.
Hockett later admitted to The Daily Caller News Foundation that he was in the wrong.
