In the week after President Trump’s State of the Union address, his approval rating soared to 52 precent — despite the fact that he is met with a barrage of hate from most cable news networks, late-night shows and Hollywood in general.

The latest Rasmussen poll found the president’s approval rating at its highest point in the last 23 months — just a few weeks after he took office. A Gallup poll had similar findings of 44 percent approval, but they also noted that as the president’s approval went up — Congress remained stuck with 21 percent approval — nearly unchanged since January.

“The latest increase in approval is mainly the result of political independents’ improved opinions of Trump. Between the late January and February polls, independents’ approval of Trump rose six points, to 38 percent. At the same time, Republicans and Democrats held steady at 89 percent and 5 percent, respectively,” Gallup reported. They also found that there has been an increase in Republican party identification from late January,

The stellar approval rating shows that the American public seems to be tuning out the endless venom — most likely thanks to President Trump’s skills at bringing his message directly to the public — either through speeches or social media. By speaking directly to the people, he is able to avoid the spin and leave nothing open to interpretation and assumption — and it works.

During the month of January, a Newsbusters review of a cross-section of nightly programming on major networks, cable TV and popular streaming services found that 33 different shows were filled with anti-Trump propaganda.

The report found the “aggressive lefty programming” called President Trump a “racist,” a “terrorist” who is holding America “hostage,” and joked that the president watches Judge Jeanine Pirro’s show with his “pants off.” It wasn’t just the president, though, these shows also enjoy going after the 63 million citizens who voted for him.

During his campaign speech in El Paso, Texas, President Trump also noted that he gets close to 93 percent negative press.

Yet, against all odds, the president is still prevailing and his popularity continues to increase as people see and hear him in his own words — without the progressive outrage filter applied at cable news networks and in the liberal media.

When President George W. Bush left office, after facing similar unrelenting attacks from the liberal media, his approval rating had been beaten down to 22 percent. He took the “high road,” never fighting back and simply smiling through the abuse and smears — hoping that people would see through the media bias on their own, but they didn’t.

Unlike his predecessors, President Trump does not sit back and hope that people see through the lies. He fights back. His hitting back has shattered the facade of the news media being unbiased neutral parties who are just interesting in sharing what is happening in the world. His fight is paying off.

According to a poll last year, only 32 percent of the public trusts the press. Nearly two-thirds of Americans said the mainstream media is full of fake news. Distrust was found all over the political spectrum — not just the right.

Unlike in the past — when people trusted their news anchors — the mainstream media has a lower approval rating than the president. He is winning this fight and waking up America.
