Rising Georgia Tech football player Brandon Adams has died at the young age of 21.

The school announced the news Sunday on Twitter, but didn’t reveal the cause of death of the defensive lineman.

“Our hearts are broken by the sudden passing of Brandon Adams. He was a tremendous teammate and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time,” Georgia Tech Sports wrote on Twitter. (RELATED: Legendary College Football Coach Shockingly Retires)

This is just a tragic situation. Tragic all the way around. Young men should be in the primes of their lives in college. They shouldn’t be dying for no apparent reason at all.

As written by YellowJackedUp.com, Adams was primed to do big things for Georgia Tech this season. A life cut short, and that’s a situation that I can’t even begin to imagine for his teammates.

Let’s all hope the school is able to provide the proper resources to his teammates to help them in this awful time.

I can’t imagine waking up to a text in college that one of the guys you line up next to every day is dead. It’s tragic beyond words.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire GT program.
