California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff endorsed a fundraising letter Saturday, collecting money for the “One-Term President Fund” that is designed to “kick Trump and his cronies out of office.”

In an email obtained by The Daily Caller with the subject line, “I have a request for you, [name of email recipient],” Schiff pleads with supporters to donate before the beginning of a new fiscal year in April.

“Tomorrow at midnight marks a critical fundraising deadline for our party. What the Democratic Party is able to raise before then will determine if the DNC will have the resources to help our eventual presidential nominee beat Trump and his Republican allies … ” Schiff notes, adding that the party “actually have a fund to help kick Trump and his cronies out of office (the One-Term President Fund!).”

The congressman then suggests his anti-Trump allies can assist the cause with only a minimal donation. (RELATED: Democrats Reportedly Continue To Defend Schiff’s Unknown Collusion ‘Evidence’)

The letter continues to ask, “Will you donate $3 to the One-Term President Fund before tomorrow’s critical end-of-quarter deadline? Every penny will go directly towards building out the party infrastructure required to defeat Trump and the GOP in 2020.”

Supporters are also provided with the option to give $10, $25, $50, $100 or any other preferred amount.

Schiff insists we need a new president, in part, because “last month, Donald Trump declared a national emergency to bypass Congress, to build a border wall we don’t need, and to address a crisis that doesn’t exist, by claiming an authority he simply doesn’t have.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton: ‘There Is No National Emergency At Our Border’)

The president is claiming authority under U.S. Code Section 284, which empowers the DoD to “construct roads and fences and to install lighting to block drug-smuggling corridors across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of Federal law enforcement agencies.”

The House Intelligence Committee chairman declares all of this “nonsense” and “also plainly unconstitutional.”

Schiff also accuses the president of having “steamrolled the will of the American people and the Congress” because a “majority of Americans don’t want a border wall … ” He urges supporters to “put an end to Trump’s corrupt, dangerous presidency” that continues to exhibit “bigotry and xenophobia.”
