The Green Bay Packers may be playing their first game in a foreign country sooner than originally expected.
Peter King said Monday morning that he thinks the Packers could be playing in London or Mexico as soon as 2020. The problem with a foreign game is the possibility of the Packers giving up a home game or a road game that would generate a ton of revenue for the home team. However, as King pointed out, the NFL isn’t going to be giving special treatment to the Packers just because they’re a historic franchise.

You’re damn right the Packers shouldn’t get special treatment. They’re no better than any other team, and I refuse to let people pretend otherwise.
If all the other teams have to go to London, then they most certainly need too as well. I don’t care how special Aaron Rodgers thinks he is.
They haven’t done anything in nearly a decade. Save me the song and dance about how great they are. When they win a few more Super Bowls, then I’ll listen to whether or not they should be treated differently. Until then, they can pack their bags, get on the plane and fly overseas just like everybody else.

The mantra of all great teams should be that they’ll play anybody anywhere at any time. If not, they should play their regular schedule and never take risks.
That’s not the spirit that beat the Japanese, and as a freedom-loving American, I refuse to hold any franchise to any standard below that one.
