Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce doesn’t know if Tyreek Hill will return to the team.

The talented but troubled receiver has been stopped from participating in team activities after an audio tape was released in which he appeared to threaten a woman and discuss child abuse. The investigation into his son’s broken arm was reopened following the tape’s public release. The investigation was initially closed without charges.

As for his future with the team, it sounds like nobody really knows what will happen, including his own teammates. (RELATED: Tyreek Hill Case Re-Opened After Disturbing Audio Emerges)

“I think it’s still up in the air. I don’t know, nobody knows exactly what’s going on,” Kelce said Wednesday during an appearance on #PFTPM when asked if players on the Chiefs think Hill will or won’t return.

The NFL can’t let Tyreek Hill anywhere near a football field. It just can’t. Letting him back on the Chiefs and playing in games would send an awful message.

Remember, the NFL doesn’t need a conviction to handle Hill. As we’ve seen before, the league can do whatever it wants, and there’s nothing anybody can do to stop it.

That audio tape should be more than enough to keep the Chiefs star sidelined for a long time. It’s simply awful.

The fact his own teammates don’t know if or when he’ll return makes me think he’s not likely to be back anytime soon.

Otherwise, they’d have some basic idea, and Kelce clearly doesn’t seem to know anything. What a disaster of a situation and an embarrassment to the league.

Hopefully, Roger Goodell handles this situation in an appropriate manner because it would be an awful look for the league if Tyreek Hill is out there running routes anytime soon.
