“Game of Thrones” Creator George R.R. Martin says several prequels are moving forward in great fashion.

It’s not exactly known how many prequels will air on HBO, but it sounds like there’s more than one set up for success. (RELATED: These Are The Sexiest Photos Of ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Star Emilia Clarke On The Internet)

Martin recently wrote the following on his website, according to IGN:

We have had five different GAME OF THRONES successor shows in development (I mislike the term “spinoffs”) at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely. The one I am not supposed to call THE LONG NIGHT will be shooting later this year, and two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer. What are they about? I cannot say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD and come up with your own theories.

I like the sound of this. You can go ahead and inject this right into my veins. I knew there were possibly going to be a lot, and it’s been narrowed down to only a few.

There had been a previous report back in February that only one prequel would go forward. However, it sounds like that’s no longer the case.

Let’s hope we get as much “Game of Thrones” content as possible. There’s nothing as too much “GoT.” There’s only not enough. (RELATED: ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Is Excellent In New Episode ‘The Last Of The Starks’)

I have no idea what these prequels are going to be about. Not a clue, and I’m sure that’s not an accident on the part of HBO.

The network probably doesn’t fully know itself just yet. All I care about is whether or not it’s great. If we’re going to make prequels, then they have to meet the high standard of excellence set by the show.

Nothing else will be good enough.

Let’s all hope HBO just keeps hitting home runs. Keep checking back for updates. You know I’ll keep giving them to you all whenever I have them.

Can’t wait to see what HBO produces!
