“Game of Thrones” had a very solid response to a coffee cup appearing in episode four of the final season.

During the last episode, a cup of coffee can clearly be seen on a table, and it’s mind-boggling how something like that didn’t get caught as it was filmed or in post-production. (RELATED: These Are The Sexiest Photos Of ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Star Emilia Clarke On The Internet)

“Game of Thrones” tweeted from the show’s official account, “News from Winterfell. The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. #Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

This is how you handle an embarrassment. You don’t ignore it. You don’t pretend like it didn’t happen. You just respond with a little humor.

HBO is once again leading the way when it comes to dominating the internet and the television game. Plus, the internet seems to think they know who is responsible for the mistake, and it just had to be Sansa.

On a slightly serious note, I still don’t understand how it was was possible for this cup to make into the show. I just don’t at all. (RELATED: ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Is Excellent In New Episode ‘The Last Of The Starks’)

Dozens and dozens of eyeballs would have been on it at one point or another, and nobody caught it. HBO has some of the best talent on the planet. They’re the gold standard for television, and they still let a coffee cup appear in a pivotal episode of the show.

How? How does that happen?

Either way, props to HBO for using a little comedy in reaction to the situation. Tune in Sunday night to see the latest episode.
