It’s official: chivalry is not dead.
After Meghan McCain had a prickly conversation with comedian Seth Meyers on his program Tuesday night, her husband, Ben Domenech, swiftly came to her defense in a middle of the night Twitter tirade using the words “gargle” and “Lorne Michaels” and “balls.” (RELATED: Meghan McCain Rips Seth Meyers For Defending Ilhan Omar)
Just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Domenech apologized for his “rage” tweeting.”
I love my wife. I apologize for rage tweeting about how Seth Meyers treated her. I don’t like him, I think he’s a hack, but I shouldn’t have done that. I’m sorry to anyone I offended.

McCain, a co-host on ABC’s The View, has taken heat for blasting Rep. Ilhan Omar‘s (D-Minn.) remarks about Jews as well as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for not being hard enough on Omar. Meyers went after McCain Tuesday night to the point where McCain snapped, “Are you her publicist?”
Some deemed hubby’s defense of his wife “homophobic” and hypocritical since The Federalist publisher has fired writers for being anti-gay. In March, he fired Denise McAllister for her anti-gay remarks directed at freelance writer Yashar Ali on Twitter. Her firing likely also stemmed from her calling the ladies of “The View” a “roundtable of delusional mental midgets.” McCain famously replied, “You were at my wedding, Denise!” Domenech deleted a few of his sharper tweets, but left his general disemboweling of Meyers posted.
Domenech got pushback for his more vulgar tweets.
“Someone’s projecting,”cracked Eamon Paton-Usry, an openly-gay wrestling commentator, on Twitter. “Hey, remember when you fired one of your contributors because you & your organization can’t stand for homophobic tweets?”
At 2:28 a.m., Domenech called Meyers a “monumental asshole.”
“Seth is an awful person who is known within the industry for how terrible he is. He is a monumental asshole who is utterly unfunny. He deserves the mockery he receives from all the people who laugh at him.”
At 2:31 a.m., Domenech called Meyers a “cuck.”
“Here is proof that white men get ahead despite their obvious lack of talent: it’s @sethmeyers, who would beg for a third of the viewers at @TheView. He’s awful, untalented, and a perfect definition of a cuck.”
At 2:46 a.m. Domenech explained that lots of other people think Meyers is a “shitty person.”
“But the best thing is how much all the people around @sethmeyers talk about what a shitty person he is. Because oh, it is sad. So terrible. But he deserves all of it.”
So far, McCain has remained mum on Twitter.
