“Because of the sacrifices made by your sons, husbands, daughters and wives, we and our children enjoy the security and freedom to raise our children in the greatest country in the world,” she added, before handing the mic over to the president who praised the moms, shared how much he missed his own and wished the ladies an early Happy Mother’s Day.

Ahead of the event, the first lady’s spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, tweeted out a picture of material from the day.
