The Detroit Lions have officially inked first round pick T.J. Hockenson to a contract.

According to Spotrac, Hockenson’s rookie deal is worth a guaranteed $19.8 million over four years. He got a $12.4 million signing bonus, and the team holds a fifth year option for the eighth overall pick. (RELATED: Detroit Lions Draft Iowa Tight End T.J. Hockenson 8th Overall)

Okay, we got Matthew Stafford a big body to toss the rock to, we’ve got his signature on a contract and now it’s time to get to work.

Last season needs to be put in the trash, and we need to leave it there forever. I never want to hear it talked about ever again as far as I’m concerned.

It was a disaster by every single metric, and it’s time to make sure it never happens again.

Stafford needs all the help he can get, and we took Hockenson eighth overall to catch touchdown passes. It’s now time to find out what this man is made of.

Given what I’ve seen of him on tape, he’s going to make some serious noise for my squad, and I can’t wait to see what he does for the Lions.

I’ve got high hopes for 2019, and I expect them to get met. The time for losing is behind us, and I won’t tolerate it anymore.

Let’s get to work.
