Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis got savagely beaten over the weekend in Latvia.

A video surfaced online of Porzingis bloody and looking disoriented while surrounded by people. Witnesses say Russians jumped him in a club because he switched NBA teams, according to TMZ.

Shams Charania added that he was reportedly “hit by objects” while out clubbing.

You can watch a video of the aftermath below. It’s a little disturbing.

This is scary stuff for sure. Porzingis is in his home country. He should be treated like a hero. Instead, he was brutally beaten.

If that’s not terrifying then I don’t know what is. People go out to the bars to have some fun, drink a few beers and relax.

They don’t go to get their head cut up and hit with stuff.

Given how much money Porzingis has, he’s earned over $18 million through his NBA career so far, you’d think he could hire some security or something. (RELATED: Kristaps Porzingis Accused Of Rape, FBI Investigating ‘The Accuser’s Extortionate Demands’)

At the very least, you’d think he’d roll with a crew large enough to have his back if he was at risk of getting jumped.

If this is how he’s treated overseas, he might want to consider just hanging out in America for a bit. Last time I checked, he never got his head cracked open chilling in the USA.
