The New York Jets fired general manager Mike Mccagnan Wednesday.
According to Adam Schefter, Mccagnan was shown the exit and head coach Adam Gase was made the interim GM.
Jets have fired GM Mike Maccagnan and VP of Player Personnel Brian Heimerdinger, league sources told @jeffdarlington and me. Maccagnan had two years left on his contract.
Jets are in position to have strong season thanks to Maccagnan and Heimerdinger.

Would somebody like to explain what the hell the Jets are doing? They’ve made some nice moves lately, and all of a sudden just tossed the GM responsible for bringing them Sam Darnold and Le’Veon Bell. (RELATED: Le‘Veon Bell Signs With The New York Jets)
Not only did they dump their general manager, they named the head coach, who hasn’t coached a single game yet, for the interim position.
My friends, this is why they’re the Jets. What a joke of a situation.

Something had to happen that we don’t know about. It looked like the Jets were headed in the correct direction.
Now, they’ve been thrown into utter chaos. Let’s not forget the fact Gase was shown the exit after last season by the Dolphins. This dude has done nothing to make us believe he should now be running an NFL team on acting basis.

Something tells me we’re going to be hearing a lot more about this situation in the coming days. You don’t just dump your GM right after the draft unless there is a damn good reason.
Best of luck, Jets fans. It sounds like you guys are going to need all the help you can get.
