Actress Alyssa Milano went on a “sex strike” this week in retaliation of state legislatures in Missouri, Ohio, Georgia, Alabama and more passing restrictive abortion bills and laws.
“Our reproductive rights are being erased,” Milano wrote in a post on Twitter. “Until women have legal control over our own bodies we just cannot risk pregnancy. JOIN ME by not having sex until we get bodily autonomy back. I’m calling for a #SexStrike. Pass it on.”

This week, Alabama, in particular, passed the most restrictive abortion law in the country, banning nearly all cases, even in the instance of rape or incest, and making it a Class A felony for doctors to perform the procedure.
Missouri followed in similar footsteps when the state’s Republican-led House passed a bill banning abortions after eight weeks, even in cases of incest or rape. It must now pass the governor’s desk before becoming law.
In protest of such bans, Milano and other big names in Hollywood and media are practicing chastity. Others have been practicing for quite some time. (RELATED: Alyssa Milano Calls For ‘Sex Strike’ Until Women Have ‘Legal Control’ Of Their Bodies)
