The Los Angeles Clippers might be ready to take a serious run at Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant.

The Knicks were believed to be the likely landing spot of Durant, but that might not be the case anymore. According to Marc Stein, the Clippers have “emerged as an equally dangerous threat” to sign the superstar forward and “he is eyeing the Clippers just as intently as New York.”

If he ends up with the Clippers, you can expect the NBA to get set on fire. LeBron and Durant in the same city would be outrageous. (RELATED: Golden State Warriors Sweep The Portland Trail Blazers, Advance To The NBA Finals)

Could you imagine the ESPN news cycle? It’d be borderline unbearable. As interesting as it’d be, I’m not sure I could handle the 24/7 cycle about those two being in Los Angeles on different teams.

I might have to turn off ESPN and not turn it back on again until the football season started.

Also, would going to the Clippers really help his career a ton? He’s not like LeBron James when it comes to Hollywood potential.

He’s not a fraction as charismatic, and I see no future with him when it comes to movies. Unlike LeBron, who had very obvious reasons for needing to be in Los Angeles, there’s really nothing that jumps off the page for Durant.

He should either stick with the Warriors or go to the Knicks. The Clippers doesn’t make much sense at all, and it’d keep him in the West, which is substantially harder than the East.
