Actress Elisabeth Moss admitted that she believes it is “incredible” that people recognize the “Handmaid’s Tale” costume as a symbol of pro-choice.

Moss, 36, opened up about her work on the show with Gayle King on Monday’s episode of  “CBS This Morning.” King asked Moss what she thinks about women using the “Handmaid’s Tale” red cape and white bonnet to protest.

“I think it’s incredible that you can see this costume and know exactly what side that person is on, and what they stand for,” Moss said in an interview with CBS’s Gayle King. “I get to put that thing on every day. That’s my work. That’s my work outfit, and that is such an honor, and it’s empowering.” (RELATED: Elisabeth Moss Claims That Her Feminist Roles Perfectly Align With Her Scientologist Faith)

Moss revealed that the Margaret Atwood novel — which the Hulu original’s plot is based off of — is based on choice. She told King she hopes viewers are inspired by the show.

“The message of our show that is the most important to me, and think that is the most important to all of us who are making it, is you have to be who you want to be,” Moss said. “You have to believe what you want to believe. You have to be allowed to love who you want to love. And there are so many different choices that people can make, and should be able to make. But it is about choice.
