Son of former MLB outfielder and current Toronto Blue Jay Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is now the favorite to win the 2019 Home Run Derby after the rookie’s practice session was released on Twitter Tuesday.

The video surfaced showing Guerrero Jr. effortlessly launching balls over the fence at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The young phenom was called up earlier this season and has made a tremendous impact on the Blue Jays offense, racking up eight homers and 23 RBIs. Here is the video:

The video is simply amazing. We have seen players in past home run competitions that look unstoppable, but this could be a record-setting performance from Guerrero Jr. His swing is simply perfect.

Carlos Santana, Pete Alonso, Josh Bell, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Christian Yelich are the other remaining five that have been confirmed to participate in the derby, according to MLB.com.

Guerrero Jr. seem ready to obliterate the field after that video leaked. I would love to see how far the ball would fly in Cleveland’s Progressive Field, where the derby is being held.

The third baseman is already the youngest entrant in the competition in the leagues history at just 20 years old, but it looks like the star power hitter has his sights set on other records.

I plan to pull for Guerrero Jr. come July 8, hoping he breaks the derby record of 47 set by New York Yankee Aaron Judge.
