Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Paxton Lynch got lit up Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings.

Lynch kept the ball off of the read option, and tried to get upfield when Holton Hill obliterated him with an unreal hit to the head. (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Hottest Women On Instagram)

Of all the hits we’ve seen so far, this one might be the worst. Hill got himself tossed from the game for the hit, and that seems like the right call.

Watch the awful moment below.

Hits like that make people worried about CTE, concussions and head injuries in the league.

It’s the preseason, and Lynch nearly got beheaded. That’s not something anybody really wants to see happen. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Lynch is reportedly in concussion protocol, and I’m guessing he got his bell rung pretty well.

I’m also confident the NFL isn’t going to be too pleased with Hill at all. There’s almost a 100% guarantee there’s already a fine in the mail.

You simply can’t be hitting people in the head like that. Hill probably didn’t mean to do it on purpose, but it ultimately doesn’t matter.

Let’s hope Lynch is okay. When it comes to hits, you really won’t find too many more brutal than the one he suffered Sunday night.
