Melvin Gordon will reportedly be back with the Los Angeles Chargers very soon.
According to Branson Wright of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, the superstar running back will report to the team on Thursday. He’ll become a restricted free agent at the end of the season. (RELATED: Los Angeles Chargers Won’t Give Melvin Gordon New Contract)
#Chargers holdout #MelvinGordon will report to the team on Thursday, told today to the #ClevelandPlainDealer by a source close to the situation.
Gordon has been a contract holdout since the start of training camp. Gordon will become an unrestricted free agent in 2020.— Branson Wright (@BransonWright) September 25, 2019
Well, I guess ending his holdout after three weeks isn’t too bad for the Chargers. Plus, they’re not exactly off to a hot start.
They need him back, and it looks like he’ll be showing up just in time to save the day.

The question is what happens next after Gordon returns and the season ends. It seems like the Chargers have no interest in giving him the money he wants.
So, where does he go from here? My guess is that he plays out the rest of the season, and then immediately bounces for a payday elsewhere.
At this point, I’m guessing that’s the most likely outcome.

On a side note, you know who got laughed at for drafting Melvin Gordon early in my two leagues? Me. Everybody called me an idiot.
Well, who is laughing now folks? Bargain pick of the year! Welcome back if the report holds true, Melvin!
