HBO recently dropped another look at “Westworld” season three, and it’s not what you’d expect.

In the short promo from the network, we don’t see any of our favorite characters or anything else we might recognize. (RELATED: The Trailer For ‘Westworld‘ Season 3 Has Been Released. It’s Absolutely Insane)

Instead, we see what pretty much amounts to an ad for Incite, which seems to be a massive data company. HBO captioned the promo, “If Data Is Destiny, Then You Chart the Path.”

Give it a watch below.

I honestly have no idea what to make of that preview from HBO. I didn’t even know it was a “Westworld” promo until the end.

There’s nothing in it at all to suggest it’s a look at one of our favorite shows. Where is Dolores? Where is the Man in Black (MiB)? Where is Maeve?

Where is anything we’d recognize? At least the Comic-Con trailer had all of that stuff for the most part. This one was just bizarre.

Look, I’m not trying to be pessimistic here. I love “Westworld,” and I’m a big believer that it’s one of the greatest shows ever made.

However, I’m not sure how it can continue to be outstanding if all of our favorite elements are removed. The MiB is one of the coolest TV characters I’ve ever seen.

If we don’t have him, then fans won’t be happy. Who will give us our chilling monologues?

Season three arrives in 2020, and I have no doubt it’ll be awesome. I just hope it doesn’t stray too far from the formula that has made it such a smashing success.
