Broadway star Laurel Griggs has died at 13 years old.

Griggs, who once appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” reportedly died from a “massive asthma attack,” according to a report published by the “Today” show. A formal statement regarding her cause of death has not been released, but her grandfather shared the news on his Facebook.

The young actress passed away on Nov. 5 and the funeral service was held on Nov. 8, according to the “Today” show. Many friends and fans have shared messages on the page, including Griggs’ school director Jessica Threet. (RELATED: Christian Rapper TobyMac’s Son Dead At 21 Years Old)

“I am so grateful for every moment I got to spend teaching her, and I will have a huge piece missing this year when I direct the next show,” Threet wrote. “I will miss her enthusiasm and bright smile in the classroom. She definitely left an impact on me from my time getting to know her, and I will never forget her.”

The actress made her Broadway debut in 2013 in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” alongside Scarlett Johansson. Griggs most recently appeared in an episode of “Saturday Night Live” back in 2017.
