A deal between Rutgers and Greg Schiano to be the next football coach might not be dead just yet.

It had previously been reported that Schiano and the Scarlet Knights had failed to reach a deal, and the former head coach had walked away from a deal worth up to $32 million. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

However, according to NJ.com, there is increasing pressure and belief that the two sides will get back to the negotiating table.

Some of the issues causing the problems include unlimited use of a private jet and facility deadlines that could erase buyouts in Schiano’s deal.

I’m not one to tell other people to go about their business, but Rutgers has to do everything within reason to get Schiano back on the sidelines.

He’s the only coach who has had any kind of real success with the Scarlet Knights, and he’s by far and away the best option for the team.

They’re simply not going to get a more high profile coach than Schiano.

Now, I’m not saying Rutgers needs to give into any and all demands Schiano might have, but anything that’s reasonable should be agreed to.

They’re simply not going to find a better option than bringing Schiano back home.
