Ohio State defensive end Chase Young apparently doesn’t plan on going to the NFL.

Young is widely-believed to be the best defensive player in the draft, and many scouts think he has a real chance at being the first pick. However, he intends to return for his senior season. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

“That’s the plan,” Young responded when asked by TMZ if he’ll return for another year at Ohio State prior to the Heisman ceremony.

I really like Chase Young as a player and a person. He is a dominant defensive end, and he seems like a really good guy.

Having said that, I can safely say returning to OSU for his senior season would be incredibly stupid. It wouldn’t be smart at all.

Young will make more than $30 million guaranteed on his rookie deal given his draft stock. You simply can’t pass that kind of money up.

It’s not like he’s viewed as a day two or three guy. He’s not even projected to go later in the first round. There’s no chance he falls out of the top three, and he’ll almost certainly be a lock to be the first non-quarterback taken.

When you’re in that position, you have to go pro.

We’ll see what he does, but Fields should 100% go pro. You have to get your money while you can.
