I like Ehlinger a lot. I really do. He’s a fun player to watch, but he 100% should return for his senior season.
This isn’t even a hard call for me, and it’s coming from a guy who actually likes him. He’s a running quarterback, and he simply doesn’t have the elite arm skills necessary for the NFL.

Ehlinger has become the face of Texas football, and he has an NFL future ahead of him. However, he could 100% benefit from another season of development.
He’s not even close to being ready to start in an NFL game right now. Let’s not forget. Texas struggled mightily this season.

If Ehlinger couldn’t get his offense to dominate the Big 12, how is he supposed to tear up the NFL?
He 100% needs to return to Austin for his senior season. He should finish out his eligibility and go from there. There’s no need at all for him to rush to the NFL.
