A Michael Thomas tweet aged poorly after the Minnesota Vikings beat the New Orleans Saints 26-20 Sunday.

The Saints superstar receiver tweeted at the start of January, “2019 we took notes on all the disrespect. 2020 we get to get disrespectful back.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

There’s just one major problem. The Saints didn’t get to be disrespectful to anybody. They got bounced after the NFC Wild Card round!

Nothing is better than when people tweet dumb motivational stuff like this, and then turn around to get smacked in real life.

It will always be funny. The Saints were going to be disrespectful in 2020? I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure losing in the first round isn’t exactly what he meant.

If you’re going to tweet something like that going into the playoffs, you damn well better play the game of your life.

You simply can’t tweet something about being disrespected and then get bounced by Kirk Cousins. That’s a look that’s tough to shake.

Maybe, and this is just a casual idea, athletes should spend a little less time on social media dropping half-cocked motivational quotes.

You know what doesn’t help you score touchdowns? Twitter.

I guess he’ll just have to wait until 2021 to get that respect back!
