Ohio State coach Ryan Day reportedly had his team watch the national championship game after losing to Clemson in the playoff.

According to BuckNuts contributor @jbook37, Day told the media he had his team watch LSU beat Clemson for the national title because he wanted them to know what they’d sacrifice to be there.

This is borderline cruel. The Buckeyes lost to the Tigers in heartbreaking fashion. It was one of the worst losses I’ve seen in a long time. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Then, Day had his whole team watch the national title game when they probably felt like they were the team that should have been there.

If I was on the OSU roster, the last thing I would have wanted to do was watch LSU beat Clemson for the title.

I wouldn’t have turned on a TV for a week after the loss in the semi-finals. Yet, his team probably needed to watch the game.

The pain of watching LSU walk off the field with the trophy should motivate them to be better in 2020, put in the extra work and get ready to dominate.

Sometimes, the things that are necessary aren’t easy. Forcing your roster to watch a game they should have been in but weren’t is about as brutal as it gets.

Props to Day for not letting his guys off easy. We’ll see how they use it in 2020.
