Former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe never saw Tom Brady’s success coming.

In a recent E:60 video from ESPN, Bledsoe talks about how he once called his financial advisor to discuss the young Patriots quarterback, and told him that Brady was “never gonna be a starter” in the NFL. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

He added that everybody liked him a ton, but nobody thought he was a future starter. Watch his full comments below.

Well, I think it’s safe to say Bledsoe, who Brady ultimately replaced, got this one wrong.

Of course, it’s hard to blame the former Patriots star for thinking Brady wouldn’t be the starter. After all, he was a sixth round pick coming out Michigan.

Most of the time, sixth round picks don’t even cut it in the league as backups. They damn sure don’t go on and win six Super Bowl rings.

To say Brady exceeded expectations would be an epic understatement. All Brady did after being a sixth round pick was dominate the NFL, win six rings, and become the most successful passer in league history.

I guess we just can’t hold it against him. Brady shot to the moon with the Patriots, and anybody who says they knew he’d win six rings is a liar.
