A recent poll showed that the XFL still had a ton of interest in the second week.

I asked people Sunday if they had caught any Week Two action on TV, and the results should make the league very happy. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Of the 1,908 voters, 35.5% of people said they had watched some of the XFL this past weekend.

Now, some of you might be asking why getting less than 50% is a good thing. The answer is really simple. Getting 35.5% of people to watch anything is still a huge number.

Add in the fact that the league is all of two weeks old, and I think we can all agree that anything in the double digits is strong.

If the actual TV ratings reflect this poll, then Vince McMahon’s league is going to be in outstanding shape. (Of course, my Twitter account may attract poll participants that are more inclined to watch sports leagues like the XFL.)

The XFL has had an absurd amount of momentum through two weeks, and it hasn’t really shown any sign of slowing down.

For fans of the sport, that’s great news because we need as much football as we can get. If even 10% of football fans tune in weekly, then the XFL is 100% going to be a success.

Again, we’ll have to see how the actually ratings compare, but this poll is a very strong indication that the XFL has some serious staying power.
