All who watched Wednesday’s democratic debate reveled in the hilarity of the candidates going hard at each other, especially when they ganged up against Mike Bloomberg. At one point, Elizabeth Warren referenced alleged quotes from Bloomberg about two ladies of the British royal family; “fat broad” and “horse-faced lesbian.” The politically-incorrect names were published over 30 years ago by former employees of Bloomberg. That seems really credible. Not.
The aloof senator brought up the accusations of the billionaire using those terms in an effort to claim that he is a sexist. Mike Bloomberg is a lot of things, but this doesn’t prove misogyny. I’m actually livid that Warren is making me defend him here, but apparently the opportunity to make a shirt out of it was just too good to pass up. People were shocked by that kind of language on the debate stage, to say the least.
Five minutes in and we’ve already heard the phrase “horse-faced lesbian” and that wasn’t on my bingo card. #DemDebate
