The Dallas Cowboys will likely use the exclusive tag on quarterback Dak Prescott, according to a recent report.
The team is ready to use the exclusive tag if they can’t reach a long-term deal with their starting passer, according to Ian Rapoport. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
That would mean they’d pay him about $33 million this upcoming season.

I honestly don’t understand how the Cowboys and Prescott haven’t reach a deal yet. This is just mind-boggling to me.
When you find a starting quarterback in the NFL, you do whatever it takes to keep him. You don’t risk letting him walk.

Is Prescott a superstar? No, but he’s a solid and steady starting quarterback in the NFL. That should be more than enough to motivate both sides to reach a long term deal.
The only thing that would force the Cowboys into this situation is if Prescott is making absurd demands. Other than that, there’s no reason for a deal to not get done.
