The San Francisco 49ers reportedly aren’t interested in New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The 49ers have been floated as a potential landing spot for Brady, especially given the fact they could compete for a Super Bowl immediately. However, it’s apparently not going to happen. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

According to Chris Simms, the 49ers have elected to not pursue a deal with the six-time Super Bowl champion. Instead, the team remains committed to Jimmy Garoppolo as their starting quarterback.

You can watch Simms’ full report below.

At this point, it’d be absolutely shocking if Brady didn’t return to the Patriots. The two most popular teams in free agency for him were the Titans and 49ers.

The Titans have re-signed Ryan Tannehill, and the 49ers are reportedly sticking with Garoppolo. That means there aren’t a ton of options left for Brady if he wants to leave.

He’d really only have the Colts and Buccaneers. I find it hard to believe a guy who has won six rings with the Pats is leaving for either of those two teams.

I could be wrong. I’m wrong all the time, but I don’t see it as a very realistic outcome. My guess is that we’re almost certainly going to see Brady back with Belichick at the start of next season.

We’ll see how it all plays out, but I’d bet the house at this point he doesn’t leave New England.
