“The Plot Against America” gets underway Monday night on HBO.

The plot of the mini-series revolves around Charles Lindbergh defeating FDR for the presidency before the United Sates entered WWII. (RELATED: New ‘Westworld‘ Season 3 Trailer Gets Released, Ed Harris Returns As The Man In Black)

Judging from the previews we’ve seen so far, the audience is going to be in for a wild time during this alternate history series, which is based on a book by Philip Roth.

Obviously, there’s plenty of information out there about Lindbergh wanting to not get involved in WWII. He was one of the most vocal anti-war voices prior to America’s entry into WWII.

He was also one of the most popular men in America. Now, “The Plot Against America” will tackle what could have happened if he’d become president.

Obviously, this series is going to be incredibly dark. Anybody who has seen the previews can see that. It’s not going to be cheery at all, but I’m here for it.

As long as it doesn’t get preachy about politics and turn into some anti-Trump series, then I think we’re in for a very fun time.

Alternate history ideas and stories are really fun. We debate them all the time at work, and now HBO has poured a ton of resources into “The Plot Against America.”

I look forward to seeing how it unfolds. Tune in Monday night at 9:00 EST on HBO!
