Wisconsin Badgers basketball coach Greg Gard shared an important message over the weekend about the war against coronavirus.

Right now, we’re in a gigantic fight against coronavirus as our normal lives have come to a grinding halt. Sports have also stopped, and March Madness was canned. Now, the man leading the B1G champions has a message you all need to hear. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The basketball team tweeted a video of Gard addressing the pandemic, and he said in part, “Just continue to stay safe, take it one day at a time. As I tell our team, we’re better together but please follow all the directives of staying at home and social distancing and taking care of each other as we walk through this unprecedented time.”

You can watch his full comments below.

The football team also released a statement encouraging people to stay home and take care of themselves. You can read the full statement below.

Leave it to the Badgers to lead the way in the fight against coronavirus. The basketball program and football team are out here trying to save lives and keep people safe.

When the world needed heroes, the Wisconsin Badgers answered the bell. I’m not even going to act surprised. Being a Wisconsin man is all about leading the way on the good days and the bad days.

Right now, the war against coronavirus has us in a dark place, but we’re going to win. One way or another, we’re going to win.

I can’t stress this enough to all of you. For the love of everything righteous in this world, please listen to the health experts.

If you love football, then do your part to help win this war by flattening the curve. Together, we will win the war against the virus, and we’ll return stronger than ever.

Until that happens, do you damn job, which is to stay home. If we follow the game plan, then everything will be fine. I guarantee it.
