The NBA is talking about holding games in a centralized location amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The league shut down play after Rudy Gobert contracted the virus, and several more players also got infected. There’s no guaranteed return date for the NBA, but executives reportedly want the games in one location when action gets underway. According to ESPN, the league is considering hosting games in Las Vegas when play resumes. Another idea that’s been reportedly floated by the NBA is to play in the Bahamas or “taking over a college campus in the Midwest.”

It’s honestly not the worst idea I’ve ever heard. If putting all the games in one location is what works, then the league should do it.

It would greatly limit contact and exposure, which should be priority number one for the NBA amid the coronavirus crisis.

Of course, there’s also no guarantee the games even return this season. Everything has been shut down for weeks, and it doesn’t seem like there’s an end date in sight.

While I’d like to tell you all there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, I’m not in the business of providing false hope.

Right now, we just don’t know what will happen. Everything is up in the air. Let’s hope for the best. It sounds like the NBA is already considering possibilities, and that’s a good sign.
