Actor Jay Benedict has passed away due to complications from COVID-19.
The news was shared on the actor’s personal website after Benedict passed away on April 4. He was 68 years old at the time.
“It is with profound sorrow that we must announce Jay’s death on the 4th of April due to complications arising from a COVID-19 infection,” a statement on his personal website said.
Benedict’s agency confirmed the death on Twitter.

Benedict was born in California, but his family moved to Europe shortly after. He was most known for roles in “Aliens” and “The Dark Knight Rises” in America. In the United Kingdom, he was most known for his roles in the soap opera “Emmerdale” and detective drama “Foyle’s War.”
His voice was used in voice-over work in documentaries, ads and video games.
