The Dallas Cowboys apparently have some real interest in former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The team’s official Instagram account posted a video Saturday of owner Jerry Jones digitally interviewing Hurts, who also played for Alabama, ahead of the draft. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

You can watch the video below.

The Cowboys taking Hurts would be an excellent decision by Jerry Jones and the team. Hurts is the perfect kind of backup for Dak Prescott.

Given Dak Prescott’s contract situation, nobody has any idea what the Cowboys starter will do down the road. Nobody has a clue.

That would make adding Hurts that much smarter. He could ride the bench for a couple years, and then get a shot in a couple seasons if Prescott bounces.

I have complete confidence Hurts can be a quarterback at the highest level of football, especially with how the position is evolving with mobility.

Right now, there’s a premium on quarterbacks who can make and extend plays with their legs. We know Hurts is a hell of an athlete.

There have been questions about his ability to sling the rock consistently, but I’m not worried at all. Jones should 100% pull the trigger on getting Hurts.
