Is it possible for the sports seasons to return without games being broadcast on TV?

Right now, people are craving the return of sports amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but nobody seems to have any idea when it’ll actually happen. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

President Donald Trump seems to believe that the NFL season will begin as started. However, I’m not sure I’m buying that just yet.

During a recent discussion I was having, I pointed out that to broadcast the games on TV, you need tons of people at the stadium. That’s just the reality of the situation, and those numbers by themselves could be problematic during the coronavirus pandemic.

That’s when I thought of a possible alternative. What if the games aren’t broadcast on TV, but air on the radio? Is this possible?

Not nearly as many people are involved in a radio broadcast. Only the players, coaches, officials and the radio broadcast team would be allowed in the stadiums.

It’d be like getting in a time machine and going back to the 1920s and 1930s. However, I think it’s much better than getting nothing at all.

If the choices are not having the season or just having the game broadcast on radio, then I’m choosing the latter 100% of the time.

It’d almost be kind of exciting to fire up the radio and listen to Matt Lepay call Wisconsin games. I’m almost convincing myself it’d be pretty damn neat.

Would you listen to sporting events on the radio if TV isn’t an option? Let us know in the comments! I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
