Colin Kaepernick will reportedly use a fake viral tweet as an opportunity to contact the New York Jets.

A fake tweet from Sports Talk Barry about the Jets signing Kaepernick blew up on Twitter and had the former 49ers quarterback trending Thursday. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Despite the fact it was a social media stunt, Kaepernick will still reach out to the Jets to see if they’re actually interested, according to TMZ. He will also reportedly reach out to other teams as well.

Seriously, how desperate is Kaepernick that he’s using a fake tweet as a way to contact the Jets? What does he think is going to happen?

Does he think the Jets are now obligated to sign him because a fake tweet went viral? I doubt the Jets will even pick up the phone.

Kaep, who famously kicked off the national anthem protests in the NFL, hasn’t played since the 49ers and him parted ways, and I’d be shocked if he ever plays a snap of football again.

His talents simply don’t outweigh the distractions and baggage he brings with him. It’s not hard to figure out.

He doesn’t have the skills to justify bringing him in.

Kaepernick can contact all the teams he wants, but it’s not going to make a difference in the end.
